Creating Soft & Lightweight Applique Using FuseMe Fusible Web

Creating soft, flexible & lightweight applique is possible when using Exquisite FuseMe Fusible Web.  This easy to use product is a low melt paper-backed fusible web used to bond two fabrics together.  It is fabulous for applique embroidery designs.  Press your applique fabric and then apply fusible web to the back of the fabric with your household iron.

The paper backing will easily peel away from the fusible web and give a soft, flexible & lightweight feel to the fabric.  Place & fuse over the placement line for your applique embroidery design.  Stitch the tackdown.  Trim away the excess fabric.  It is so simple to use!

Watch as Eileen Roche explains why this is the best solution for great looking applique.

FuseMe Fusible Web is perfect for the Small Town Charm embroidery designs.  For example, here is one of July’s Ice Cream Shop.

The fabrics are the Micro Print fabrics fused on with Exquisite FuseMe Fusible Web.  Notice the plaid background that is placed on the bias.  Without FuseMe, the fabric would not lay down as well or be wrinkle-free.  And when layering applique, the fabrics will not be stiff and heavy looking.  They will still all look soft, flexible & lightweight.  Notice the flower boxes and door over the plaid background.  Simply beautiful and wrinkle-free!

Here are a couple of tips for working with the FuseMe.  Remember, to save your small pieces.  They can be fused side by side to make larger so you can use with a larger applique.  Also, cut narrow strips about ¼”, so you can use for folding up double ¼” hems.  You can also use the narrow strips for fusing down the seams of a casing, so the bodkin doesn’t get trapped when running elastic or ribbon through.  So many ways and places to use this fabulous product!

So, get out your roll of Exquisite FuseMe Fusible Web and start creating soft & lightweight applique embroidery designs!  For more inspiration, watch Eileen Roche’s Facebook Live, July 1, 2021!  Enjoy!
