The 5 W’s of Metallic Thread

It may not seem like Fall is upon us with the hot summer weather, but as embroiders we just might want to start planning those fall projects.  We have the perfect variety of Fall Quartet Metallic Threads featuring KingStar Metallic.  In this variety pack of threads, there are dark orange, purple, gold, and copper metallic colors of thread.  Beautiful and lovely colors to shine and sparkle in your fall projects!

So, let’s discuss metallic threads and the 5 W’s.  Who, What, When, Where, and Why are the 5 W’s. Who loves metallic thread? What types of designs look best in metallic thread? When should you use metallic thread? Where do you store it or buy it? Why is KingStar the best metallic thread? These are the questions we want to answer.

Who loves metallic thread?  DIME dealers, expert embroideries, and everyone who has tried it!

What types of designs look best in metallic thread? Think of the sun and how it reflects. So, choose designs with twists and turns and textures. There are many different types of designs that boast the shine and sparkle from the metallic thread. You can enhance your quilt projects with free motion quilting using metallic thread. Freestanding lace jewelry is another fabulous project, and you can use the metallic thread in the bobbin.

Listen in as Eileen Roche and Deborah Jones shares some other enhancements and projects.

When should you use metallic thread? Anytime! It is a great addition in your embroidery designs.

Where do you store it or buy it? You can store it on your thread racks, and you can purchase it here KingStar Metallic.  Here is a great tip for when you are finished with your thread. Let out a length of thread and wrap/twist it 2-3 times on itself, place over the spool and tighten the end of thread.  This is a great way to secure the thread tail.

Why is KingStar the best metallic thread? KingStar Metallic thread puddles in soft circles and doesn’t kink, requiring nothing special to have great results.  So just place your spool on your machine, choose the needle according to the fabric for your project and start stitching.

Also, there is the Fall Quartet Polyester Threads that feature cranberry, cinnamon, hedge, and date colors. This is a great collection to use in any of your fall projects.

If you want to see samples using the Fall Quartet Metallic Threads or how to secure the thread tail around the spool of thread, then be sure to watch Eileen Roche and Deborah Jones on Facebook Live from August 11, 2022.  Enjoy!
