Hand-Sketched Machine Embroidery Part 2 & New Product Reveal

In the second part of Hand-Sketched Machine Embroidery, Reen Wilcoxson, owner of Embroidery Garden, shares in the hoop projects using Hand-Sketched Florals by Reen Wilcoxson and DIME. This collection of 25 designs mimics pencil sketched florals featuring raw edge applique.

Since this collection features applique, Eileen & Reen shared a new addition and how to.  So, listen in as they share.

Isn’t that a great addition to the collection, Hand-Sketched Florals by Reen Wilcoxson?  Also, if you haven’t purchased the collection yet, then you will get this new addition.  It will be great for pre-cutting your fabrics for the applique parts of the embroidery designs.

Some of the projects were made using cork for the base fabric and applique fabric.  So, mix your fabrics and experiment.  Reen also discusses using heat transfer vinyl and making the designs larger in embroidery software.

Reen also features a project, Dazzling Diamonds Notebook Cover, using a dark charcoal thread instead of the black thread.  It softens the design to match the fabric she used.  So many options and ways to feature this beautiful floral collection.

Next up, is a new product reveal.  Ocean Waves designs by Great Notions features 22 ocean-inspired quilt designs.  This collection includes diamonds, squares, circles, borders, and half-square triangle embroidery designs. So, dive right in and quilt those tops with ocean-inspired waves, dolphins, seashells, and more.

Designs are offered in multiple embroidery formats and sizes from 5” x 7” to 9” x 9”.  You’ll also find a resizable C2S format in this collection. This is a great collection of quilt designs for your beautiful quilt. Remember to print templates, using Print & Stick Target Paper to perfectly align the quilt design to the area you want to quilt.
