You know I love to make handbags so I gladly accepted the invitation to join the Sallie Tomato Faux Leather Tour. Tomorrow on Facebook Live at 1:00 CDT, I’ll show you how I incorporated faux leather into one of my favorite bag patterns. I went traditional and selected a popular combo of canvas and faux leather. It’s a bag I can carry all summer (and fall!) Of course, I used my embroidery machine to get those perfect corners, add shape to the bag and attach the straps to the body. 
I learned quite a few tips on working with faux leather and I’m happy to share them with you. I’ll walk through the basics: selecting fabrics, needles, thread, stabilizers and hardware and then ramp up the ‘in the hoop’ techniques.
