Elizabeth and Henry started off on the wrong foot today.
Henry later apologized and professed his love for Elizabeth.
They do make a nice couple.

10 years agoThe one thing I have is a chenille stitch foot. I have never made actual chenille with it. Do you use a special fabric? Or bias cut? And when you brush it to fluff it, how do you keep it from scratching the fabric you are attaching it to?

10 years agoI would like to use the Bernina narrow hemming foot. Tried it on sheer skirt & ended up taking it to alteration person as I just couldn’t get it to work??

10 years agoI’ve never been able to get my Ruffler (Bernina foot no. 86)to work properly.

10 years agoWhen I was doing ruffling for a set of curtains, the ruffle was a double layer of fabric, I fought with it for awhile then realized the machine was ruffling only the top layer causing everything to bunch up and not work properly. I found that the ruffling foot worked better if I baste stitched the two layers together then ruffled them, worked like a charm.

10 years agoI have all the feet for the new Babylock Ovation, so far I have only used the standard foot, the binder fott and the belt loop foot (that was fun!). I still need to learn about all the others, especially the blind hem foot and the elastic foot. So excited to try these all out!

10 years agoI have a funny looking foot for my BabyLock Ellisimo that I have no clue what it is for. That is what I would like to learn how to use. Plus all the cool stuff that I don’t even have a clue about.

10 years ago#69.. The roll hem foot. I bought it thinking I could put a narrow hem on a sheer fabric but it got the best of me!
Cindy Carson
10 years agoI have the Babylock Ellisimo too. I love the 1/4″ edge for piecing quilts, but would like to learn how to put pipping on well with the correct foot.

10 years agoI would like to know how to use the ruffler foot for my Singer 221K Featherweight and ruffler foot for my Babylock serger. And if there’s a foot to make pleats, that too! (Or is that the ruffler foot?)

10 years agoFunny you mention the Bernina sideways foot. Just today I was thinking I would ask my dealer to demonstrate how it’s used and what it’s for.
Colleen Bell
10 years agoI so much agree with Kristi D. I have an Ellisimo Gold with a funny foot and don’t have a clue how it is used. I just love embroidering so much, that I just don’t sew or investigate what is in my tool box as much as I should.
Oh, I do love these “Closer Looks.” I even take the time to show them to my geeky adult sons when they come over. They are all impressed with the technology.

10 years agoI would like to learn how to use the bias binder foot, the blind hem foot, the elastic foot, and the ruffler foot. I am a foot junkie and have a lot of feet lol that I have never used. I love the walking foot, the piping foot, the roller foot, and the sequin foot.

10 years agoIn principle, I know how the rolled hem foot works but in reality, I can’t seem to get the hang of it in order to achieve a beautiful finished edge. I would sew appreciate any helpful hints.

10 years agoThe blind hem foot is something I would like to learn…eventually.
Seems daunting right now.
Madeline Lester
10 years agoI would love to know how to judge the amount of fabric needed to use the ruffling foot. I don’t get how the ruffled or pleating works. How much fabric makes how much ruffle or pleating? It’s very confusing to use.

10 years agoI have trouble with the rolled hem foot on my Janome 15000 and want to better know how to use it properly and I really want to learn how to use the flower foot on my Singer One Plus. Oh – I also want to learn how to properly use a walking foot…Yikes – I think I need a foot course!
Annette Danos
10 years agoI would love to learn how to use the ruffler attachment. I sew a lot of shorts with a ruffle on the hem. This would make it so much simpler. I have bought a ruffler but can’t seem to keep a straight seam, either top or bottom is always off. This attachment is getting the better of me. There is no instructions on how to use it when you buy the attachment.

10 years agoI would love a video on how to work the Bernina darning and free
motion embroidery foot #9/24. It seems so easy and then when I
try…..not so much!

10 years agoI bought a set of 30 feet from Amazon two months ago and would love to learn how to use all of them skillfully, but the two that have me most intrigued are the Ruffler and the Binding feet. I have watched YouTube videos for both, but can’t quite bring myself to try anything yet.
Frances Powell
10 years agoI have trouble with the hemmer foot. When I try to practice, the fabric will roll under right for a short time and then it flattens out. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I know if I could use it properly, then I could save a lot of time. Thanks.
Barbara McKenzie
10 years agoI have given up on the rolled hem foot – I think you must need to have the “perfect” fabric to make it work. Either that, or I’m just too impatient….
Joan Luiz
10 years agoThere is a little book by Christine Phillips – “The Sewing Machine Attachment Handbook” – that has good instructions for the ruffler attachment. Clear pictures for each fabric path and how to adjust the ruffler. Lots of history of sewing machines and how to use those odd looking feet. This is where I learned how to use my ruffler. It does take practice to be able to control the fabric feeding into the ruffler.

10 years agoI have a BabyLoc Imagine serger with all the feet but I am too intimidated to try them out. I would like to learn about all the feet but would settle for the elastic foot and the blind hem foot.

10 years agoThe elastic foot. I use the rolled hem foot all the time you need the right tension on the fabric. I have also found I do not sit right in front of the machine with that foot.
Alice Cornelson
10 years agoI’d like to learn more about the sideways walking foot, however, the one that stumps me the most is the run/fell foot, Bernina #71. If I could master that bad boy, then I could rip up the legs of my jeans and embroider some neat stuff up the leg. Thanks, Alice

10 years agoI have a Bernina Binder foot that I keep trying & it never works for me BUT I am even more curious about how to use a “Flower Stitch” foot that I have had for several years. It is a very big & strange looking foot.

10 years agoThe book by Barbara Goldkorn “Cutting Edge Serger Techniques” looks interesting, so I put in an order on DIME. Please cancel it, as I refuse to nearly double the price with the shipping. I will look for it, when and if it shows up in book stores in Canada. We do have access to Designs Magazine, so I figure the book will show up too. Thanks Dawn

10 years agoI would like to master the trick to using the belt loop binder on my babylock evolution. I watched a babylock representative use one at a sewing event a few years ago and it looked so easy but after I purchased it and tried it at home, I just couldn’t get it to do a good job.
