Our good friends, Bonnie and Brad Faber are graciously hosting their second Stitching Sisters event. We had so much fun there in 2011 we couldn’t possibly give up the opportunity to work with them again. Click here to meet Bonnie Faber.
What will be different about this year’s visit? First off – we know more! Every project, every event, every month of stitching teaches us something new. And we love to share that with all of you. This week, Marie and I are creating new projects, selecting materials and designs for all of our events this fall. We brainstorm; write outlines, make lists then return to our studios to make the samples. Once we’re satisfied the projects will delight the Stitching Sisters attendees – it’s time to make the kits. We split those tasks evenly and before you know it, we’re packing our suitcases and heading to the airport for our first event of the season. Here’s a look at Marie packing the trunks.
What’s the best part of the events? Well, it depends on who you ask. Marie and I will tell you we love meeting the attendees. We meet so many fabulous ladies – from the West Coast to the East Coast. We’ve met a commercial diver, a motorcycle mama, a grandmother-mother-daughter trio and a candy-maker to just name a few. We’ve learned we all share the same passion for embroidery and everyone has a unique story. A story filled with cherished memories, adventures, love, heartache, trials, tribulations and joys.
If you ask the attendees what they like best about the event, many will say the education and the spirit of the events. But don’t listen to me, read what Gena Allen, a Kansas City attendee said, “I attended your Stitching Sisters event in Kansas City and was totally amazed! It was the best workshop I have attended. Not only did you provide us with an overwhelming amount of info, but you broke it down for us with each project so it was not overwhelming. Both of you were great about walking around to see if any of us needed help. Hope you come back to Kansas soon!”
I hope you’ll join us for a Stitching Sisters event soon. Check the schedule; we might be coming to location near you. Bring a friend, a sister, or come by yourself. You won’t be lonely for long because everyone leaves as a new stitching sister! Look how much these ladies in Connecticut are having.

12 years agoMy sis Margaret and I went to this event. We ,are in the second row. Margaret’s in orange and I am in red.
We made a variety of things, tshirt,lady bug,napkins, towels, continuous stippling seahorse and many more. Learned a lot about placement and hoop usage. Learned how to change necklines. Worth every penny. Would go again. We also did one day of anita goodesigns at another store. This was ever so much better. More take homes, pleasanter hostess. More information.

12 years agoI attended a Stitching Sisters event a few years ago in Portland, Oregon. The best part of the experience was actually getting to make a ton of projects! Everyone in the group got a chance to make one or two projects – I was lucky enough to make all of them! The ladies in my group were a little intimidated and let me do it all! I learned a ton of new techniques and got great ideas for things to do. I would attend another event in a “New York Minute!

12 years agoI was thrilled to see that a event was planned only 40 minutes away, then I checked my calendar and we’ll be in San Francisco that weekend… Hmmm, maybe Torrance in March…. I don’t think you can pay people enough to look that happy!!

12 years agoI have been to a few events in the Buffalo region. They are a great time and nnoyou aren’t happy because they pay you in money but you are paid in comradire, laughs,and unforgettable information.

12 years agoNothing particularly large like your taking about. My local sewing center – where I purchased my machine – offers classes. I attend many of those; I always pick up some tip or piece of information that is worth my time and effort.

12 years agoI went to the event in CT and am way in the back of the picture. We did so much and learned so much. I would recommend it highly for anyone interested in embroidery. I have gone to quite a few events sponsored by the store where I bought my machine, but this was the best I have attended by far.

12 years agoSeveral. I’ve been to Ala. to Martha Pullen’s School twice & loved it. But the best time was when my grand daughter went with me! I stay with my daughter in Huntsville so that saves me hotel cost!

12 years agoI attended your Texas Sew Down several years ago in Grapevine. It was packed full of information, but I would love to attend one of your hands on events. I would accomplish a lot more of my “bucket list” embroidery challenges that way. Please bring something to Texas again, Austin or Dallas.

12 years agoMy mom and I attended the Mesa, Arizona Stitching Sisters and I loved how we made the burp cloths along with the various other items as a team. Of course, I like my own machine while trying your techniques but the team approach gave me others’ perspective.

12 years agoI have attended 3 conferences,2here in Indiana and 1 in Vegas ! Loved them all, went as a stranger and lest with lots of new embroidery’ sisters’. Although we are separated by miles,still keep in touch by email.when we met up again,it is like a family reunion. We want to do a cruise next.

Embroidery events are so much fun! The instructors are knowledgeable and high energy,and the participants are amazing! Add to that the opportunity to make something beautiful, and you have the perfect day.
I can’t think of a better use of my time. Thanks for creating magnificent events!

12 years agoI attended the Stitchin Sisters event in Cranberry, PA Feb 2012. It was two days of fun, education and inspiration. We learned so many new skills, met new friends, and had a chance to meet Marie and Eileen in person. It was a bright spot in the midde of the winter blues. I’d love to attend a SS event again soon.
