Tina N. – La Belle, FL I had a wonderful two days with you in Bradenton, FL. It was a great presentation. Thank you for all the hard work you put into making machine embroider more enjoyable for all of us.

Marilyn Weiss:
“Hi Eileen and Marie,
I’m still on a creative high from my Stitching Sisters weekend in Mystic, CT sponsored by Schillers. You both do an incredible job of keeping the energy up in the room and moving us through the projects. It’s so much fun, you don’t realize how much you’re learning. It’s time to add another “S” to the Stitching Sisters–Sensational!Thank you for making the trip to CT. You are always welcome and next time we’ll arrange a Manhattan clam chowder taste test! With hugs and thanks,
Marilyn Weiss

Michelle Wagner
“Just attended The Stitching Sisters in Pittsburgh. I felt like I was meeting movie stars. Thanks for all the embroidery lessons. My favorite was making the “In the hoop, zippered eye glass case.” I was amazed how easy it was to make! I plan to make some for gift giving. Thanks Eileen & Marie!”

Paula Roney
“Thank you for such an inspiring, fun filled two day event in Pittsburgh. My sister and I had a blast and enjoyed every minute. The Stitching Sisters are the BEST!”

Jan Loibl
“I just returned from the Stitching Sisters event in Pittsburgh, 2-10 & 2-11, and let me tell you, I learned some really COOL things such as embellishing with a little dot, (won’t give away the secret) and a cool thing with a nightlight.

Anyway, if you can attend this event in your city, I highly recommend that you go. These ladies are fun, funny and fabulously talented. I had a really great time. I can’t wait to start the Butterfly quilt from their Stipple collection.”

I’m pretty new to machine embroidery and I have the
Baby Lock Palette 6 program. I’m still trying to figure out all
the programs but it’s slow going. I like reading your magazine as I get a lot of ideas and tips for stablizing and using different fabrics. Thanks for the information.

  • Sheila

Can you bring this to Indiana????? That would be awesome! I went to Martha Pullen’s SOAF this summer and it was so fun. I would love to have some of the great designers come to Indiana. We sew here too!!! Looks like a great experience.

  • Jo

I wanted to attend the San Antonio event, but couldn’t. Please let me know when you’ll be in Texas again.

    • eileen

We don’t have another Texas event scheduled at this time but we will be heading to Louisiana in September, 2011. The site is to be determined at this time.

  • Devora OLson

Thanks for all of your products and the wonderful video instructions that accompany them.

  • Charlotte Casey

Hi – what level of experience do you need to have to attend and is it for any type of machine? I have a Bernina Quilters Edition with embroidery module. Thansk!

    • eileen

      Hi Charlotte,
All embroiderers benefit from attending a Stitching Sisters event because the focus is on 50 different techniques. You’ll learn how to nail placement, take the fear out of hooping and achieve professional results in all of your embroidery projects. Currenty, the events are conducted on Baby Lock or Brother embroidery machines (provided for participants at each event). But the techniques are definitely transferrable to any machine brand. I hope you’ll join us soon!

  • Nancy

Wish you would come to Alabama

    • eileen

We’re not scheduled for Alabama but we’re getting closer – Atlanta in January! Our first time in Georgia!

  • Karen Nick

I love your Stipplie patterns, so far I have purchased the Butterflies, Shells and leaves. It would be great if you do a winter one, like snowmen, or Christmas ornaments.
    Hugs Karen

    • eileen

Great ideas for new Stipple! collections, Karen. I’ll keep them in mind!

  • angela taylor

Hi I went to your apple valley show and you said if I email you and bought the stippling quilt for christmas you would email the 2 bouns patterens that you didn’t have with you. I bought the autumn, geo, strips and the christmas. I love the sea shells so I will be getting that too.

Hope you remember. I would love to have them. Had a lot of fun

  • Kay Butterbaugh

Would love to attend any classes of confrences in Michigan. I am so interested and lould lobe to benifit from your teachings. Are you ever coming to Michigan? I am in Mid Michigan.

    • eileen

      Hi Kay,
Country Stitches has contacted us about an event next winter – most likely January or February 2012. I’ll keep you posted!

  • Cassandra

Florida could use a visit, too. It’s been a while since I had the pleasure of attending one of your events.

    • eileen

      Hi Cassandra,
We don’t have an event scheduled for Florida at this time but you never know…maybe in 2012!

  • Marge Geraci

It is so neat to have found your site. I now receive the magazine, which I dearly love. There are so so many tips and wonderful ideas. I feel I have learned more from only one magazine and your blog and other things on the site than from anything else since I have had my machine. Thanks so much.
    Marge from Florissant, MO

  • Peggy

You were not featured in Nancy’s Sewing Weekend, maybe we will see you next year!

  • Jackie Wallace

My sister Rhonda and I attended your show in Atlanta on Jan. 28 & 29, I really enjoyed meeting you two and learned a lot, you ladies really know your stuff and work very hard at shows. Best of everything to you both!

  • Patty Klein

I was just wondering if there are any plans for a Texas Sew Down this year?

  • Rhonda Juhan

Eileen and Marie, we had so much fun in Atlanta. The information you gave and taught us was immeasurable. You two are definitely gifted in your talent and love for the embroidery industry.
Best blessings in everything you done.
    Signed Had fun in Atlanta

  • Joyce

I understand the ladies in the Okanogan, in B.C. Canada are trying to prepare a weekend there. It would be great to see you there.

  • Patricia Bauer

Looking forward to the upcoming event in Santa Rosa. Can’t wait to see what fun is waiting for us!

    • eileen

It was great meeting you Patricia. Everyone absolutely adored your Pretty Princess – you’ve done an excellent job on that project and I’m glad you shared it with everyone. I think that was a good idea to how everyone how deserving you were of winning all those prizes! I only wish we had all given you a dollar to buy lottery tickets! After all – it was definitely you’re lucky day!

      • Patricia Bauer

I stil can’t believe I won that many prizes. Thanks again for coming to Santa Rosa. It was a great event. A magnetic hoop is now on my wish list. Thanks also for DME. I’ve been a subscriber for many years. It has been a vicarious embroidery fix when there wasn’t enough time in the day to feed my “habit”. Now I finally have time to get back to all those projects in the magazine that I’ve wanted to do, like the Pretty Princess. You keep me inspired. Keep up the great work!

  • Peggy Schroeder

I, and my friends, so enjoyed spending the week-end with you and Marie in Santa Rosa. We learned a lot, and I was afraid that after attending your seminar in Sacramento last year that it might be too much of the same; happily that was not the case! We enjoyed every bit of it, and we look forward to attending another one. If you are going to Eddie’s Quilting Bee, the original Eddie is my step-brother’s cousin! I guess it really is a small world.

Hope you made it home without any travel nightmares, the weather now is absolutely beautiful, and I wonder why it waited until we were all home to turn warm.

Take care, and thank you for all of your wonderful help.

    • eileen

      Hi Peggy!
It was great to have you in Santa Rosa – in the front row no less! It’s always very comforting to see a familiar face in the crowd. And the chocolates were amazing, Peggy. Thank you for that lovely gift. Marie and I got home safely – thankfully an uneventful travel day. Thank you for joining us twice! Take care, Peggy.

      • Peggy Schroeder

        Hi ,

The pictures that were taken in Santa Rosa turned out pretty good, is there a way to email them to you?

  • Donna

I’ve been getting your magazine since the very first publication. I really love reading it.
Any chance that you might be coming to Florida anytime? It sure would be fun to go to one of your seminars.

    • Eileen Roche

Hi Donna! Marie & I are scheduled to teach at the Sewing Studio in Maitland, FL on Nov. 4-5. Click here for more information:
      Hope to see you there!

  • Helen Ganas

    Dear Eileen & Marie,
We had so much fun in Santa Rosa with you. I just talked to Terri and she did one of the bears yesterday. It was frustrating, thread breaks and all, but she got it done. So between the three of us she is off and running with her Ellisimo. Thanmk you again,

    • Eileen Roche

      Hi Helen,
Good to hear from you! Marie & I really enjoyed the weekend in Santa Rosa and you ladies were a hoot! Thanks for sharing the two days with us. Say hello to the rest of your gang!

  • Peggy Schroeder

I’m so glad you and Marie enjoyed the chocolates I made. I tried to think of a little gift to thank you for all of your efforts, and who can go wrong with chocolate? When I am sewing, (or unfortunately, unsewing), nothing helps the frustration like a little bite of it. You put so much work into making such a good week end for all of us, I just wanted to do something back for you.
We enjoyed everything about the seminar, and it was so interesting to hear about all the different things your sisters do.
My friend Pat and I are looking forward to you coming back this way, we want to do it again!! We would love to be able to go on your cruise, but I don’t think we can do it this year.
    Thank you.

  • Nancy

The latest issue is the best ever. Can’t wait to start on the coupon organizer. The information is so clear and good, I am not afraid to attempt any of the designs.

  • Jane

Hey Everyone! I’d highly recomend going to the Sewing Sisters Event if you get the chance. I live in Oregon and I went to Puyallup WA June 4th and 5th with my friend from Longview WA. We had a great time! I personally never won anything but I did receive a wealth of knowledge and inspiration not to mention all the fun ladies I met and new friendships made. The projects we did were great and we got the CD-rom to go home to make more. I’m really looking forward to the next event! Thanks Eileen and Marie!! It was great meeting you!

    • Jane

Whoops! I meant “Stitching Sisters Event” . Wish there was an edit button.

    • Eileen Roche

Thank you for the kind words, Jane! Oh Marie and I enjoyed every minute at Puyallup – what a great group of embroiderers!

  • Mary Haggenmaker

Perhaps you could make it to Southern Maryland one day. There is a very good Baby Lock dealer right up the road from me. I am sure he would be happy to host an event.

  • Freda Falldorf

Just reading these blogs and responses makes me want to attend one of your events. I am in Ohio, near Dayton, and near Richmond Indiana. Richmond is where my nearest dealer is located, called the Stitching Nook and they are so helpful with any problem that comes up. I have the Designer Diamond Deluxe and just used it for the first time yesterday to embroider a candlewicking design, and to do some repair work for my almost 99 year old mother and myself. It was very pleasant experience.
I have subscribed to Designs for a long time, maybe since the beginning, but don’t remember for sure. The only complaint I have is, when I leave the room for a minute, the machine stops for thread breaking or something else, it seems to know when to stop to aggravate me!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks for your blogs!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anne jacobson

This is all new to me because I have never done machine embroidery but seeing your video has whetted my appetite. Layering the fabric and then cutting away is fabulous

  • Pat Miller

Northwest Florida always gets left out of everyone’s schedule! You have some devoted embroidery enthusiasts in an area from Pensacola to Niceville (approximately 100 miles). How about coming our way?
    Pat Miller

  • Margrete Olsen

Hello, I am so exicted to be able to attend the event here in May of 2012. My plan is that my world will be much better by then. My sewingfriends told me about it, I signed up imediatelly, all I know is that it is about Embroidery. I have a Bernina 200e . I hope I can translate what I learn to my machine. I wonder of there is a place on the net I can find out what I signed up for. thanks

  • Eileen Roche

    See you on Friday!

  • Eileen Roche

    So glad you’re joining us!

  • pyramid backlinks

Hi just thought i would tell you something.. This is twice now i have landed on your blog in the last 3 weeks hunting for completely unrelated things. Odd or what?

  • Melinda

  • Meg

What about San Antonio or Wisconsin?

  • Rita Turner

Where can we find the promo codes for your events?

I love the Designer Handbags CD and designs. I made my first one last weekend and love it. The designs are perfectly digitized. I sure wish you guys would come to eastern NC.

  • Bonnie Readie

Day 1 was packed full of ideas can’t wait for day 2! You ladies are awesome. I’m in stitchin heaven!!

  • Cindy Dolinar

Hi Eileen, Could you tell me the design in the July/August 2010 Volume 63 on page 29 titled Bargain Bin to Upscale Masculine Fashion? I looked into the OESD embroidery design pack 12260 and I can’t find it. I, also, attended the event at the Amy Baughman event in Pittsburgh and enjoyed it thoroughly! Thank you for your fun ideas! I’m looking forward to another event! Thanks, for your help! Cindy Dolinar

  • Sylvia Frustaglio

I am signed up for the Denver event on Apr 13-14. I was just wondering what we need to bring to the event(machine, laptop etc.)? We are looking forward to this event as I have read so many wonderful reviews.

    • eileenroche

Hi Sylvia, We’re looking forward to a great event in Denver. Just bring yourself (and maybe a pair of small sharp scissors)- we supply kits, machines, tools – you name it! See you there! – Eileen

  • Ellen

Hey, I was at the two day event in Denver. What a blast and just loved all of the projects that we got to do. What great gals you are and will look forward to see you both again really soon. Thanks so much for all the fun. When I get a minute I will send you the photo for the beautiful quilt I made from one of your past magazines.

    • eileenroche

Hi Ellen – thanks for attending the Denver event! We had a blast – great group of embroiderers. Looking forward to seeing your quilt!

  • Cindy

Thank you to Schiller’s and the Stitching Sisters for a fun weekend in Mystic! I learned so much and am looking forward to applying the numerous techniques Eileen and Marie shared. I appreciated the “hands on” aspect, and the availability of knowledgeable staff who answered all our questions.

  • Colleen Bell

Becky and I, also want to thank everyone at the Stitching Sister’s event this weekend in Mystic, CT. The event was fantastic. It was much more than either one of us ever anticipated. There was a blog question a while back about why people attend these events and I really thought it was mainly for the techniques. Boy was I wrong. It is so much more. More than I can describe, but fellowship is right up there. The hard work during the two days and all the prep days was incredible. Thank you so much.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you.

  • Ruthanne

Just wanted to give my heartfelt thank you for you for such a wonderful event in Mystic,Ct. I had the best time and you two were so down to earth and friendly.I was very shy to share my projects and you made me feel very comfortable. You have unleashed my embroidery Goddess. =) i bought so many your your products i am not sure what one i want to start first. Handbags to stippling and so any things in between.Thank you both so much for sharing all your tips and techniques with us. I am so glad i went and for anyone reading this if they are in your area get the tickets you wont be disappointed. believe me it is not some boring lecture =) its hands on fun for 2 days straight. I have been an embroiderer for 10 years now and now i have all these great new ideas and items to create.. thank you soo much..and you too Rick from Schillers Sewing

  • Margo Walrath

Hi, I live in upstate NY and am considering the October seminar you are ?giving in King of Prussia … question though … do I bring my sewing machine for your seminars or are they provided … or do we even sew during the 2 day event

    • eileenroche

Hi Margo! No need to bring a machine to a Stitching Sisters event. The event in King of Prussia is sponsored by Baby Lock and includes the use of their top-of-the-line machines. The events are done in a team sewing environment so you’ll have three or four people to machine rotating turns. We do a minimum of 9 projects over the two days so everyone goes home with finished projects. Its a fun, relaxed and educational environment – I hope to see you there!

  • Debra

Will you be in the Atlanta, GA area? I had heard there was to be an event there, but do not see it here.

    • Denise Holguin

      Hi Debra,
Yes, Eileen will be teaching at Discover Sewing– Sept 8-9th. More details will be posted when they are available.

      Hope to see you there!

Eileen Roche Workshop is listed as in Kennewick, OR. There is no Kennewick in Oregon. Kennewick is in Washington.

    • eileenroche

You’re so right! Thanks for pointing that out!

  • Ronda Halvorsen-Ferns

So very excited to attend the Stitchin Sisters event in Bend!!!!! Eileen and Nancy actually inspired my first embroidery machine purchase a Brother LB6800, what I could afford at the time! Just wish I had the opportunity then to get a machine with a field greater than 4×4 it is so limited, but has been a good place to start! Have been saving since then for an Ellisimo, I search tons of websites daily for one! Well safe travels ladies and see you in June our weather is usually delightful by that time! Thanks for being such a great inspiration.
    Ronda in Bend, Oregon

  • Darlene

I have a Baby Lock 6 needle and have been having lots of fun with it but would love to advance my skills. Any chance of coming to any part of Texas or a bordering state? Please?

  • Kristi D.

Eileen and Marie were FANTASTIC. My two mothers and I attended the Bend, Oregon Stitching Sisters event put on by Morrows Sew and Vac. and had a wonderful time. We learned so much and had a ball doing it. They have so much knowledge and share it so willingly. They make learning a fun and enjoyable time. Thank you, thank you for coming to our little slice of heaven here in central Oregon.

  • Cheryl

Any chance you would come to Eugene, Oregon? Also, what is the cost for your two day class? I am new to machine embroidery and excited to learn more about this?

  • Blaine Austin

I would like someone to contact me about an event that we are planning. I want to talk to someone about your participation in it.

I recently made a Baby Quilt which I cannot now quilt because I can’t lock the fabric in my hoop.

I am interested in your Monster Snap Hoop but have read so many
different comments that I don’t know what to believe and also some
comments that the magnets will harm my machine.

I need to know what is what. Also, where can I buy the hoop and
is there a way to return it if it doesn’t work.
I would appreciate any information you can furnish me.

  • eileenroche

    Hello Carrollyn,

Monster Snap Hoop has been thoroughly tested on EVERY machine it is compatible with resulting in only positive results – no harm to any machine. The computer chips in today’s machines are quite tiny and highly insulated. I often compare them to our cell phones – their capabilities have vastly increased while their physical size has greatly diminished.

Monster Snap Hoop is a very strong magnetic hoop and will hold bulky fabrics and quilt sandwiches. What we have to remember is that an embroidery machine moves the hoop during the embroidery process unlike a long arm quilting machine that moves the needle not the quilt. You have to take the weight of the quilt into consideration when you are quilting with an embroidery machine. If the quilt is small – say crib size – then you will probably be fine quilting with Monster Snap Hoop as long as you SUPPORT the weight of the quilt during the process. It’s the weight OUTSIDE of the hoop that pulls the quilt out of the hoop.

We stand behind all of our products and if you’re not satisfied with your purchase, you may return the hoop as long as it’s in good condition.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Rhett Gramer

I became honored to obtain a call from my friend as he uncovered the important ideas shared on the site. Studying your blog post is a real excellent experience. Thanks again for thinking about readers like me, and I desire for you the best of success like a professional in this topic.

  • Gayle Werner

Your website mentions a Stitching Sisters Event in St. Louis MD. Unfortunately, what you mean is St. Louis, MO (Missouri NOT Maryland). Jackman’s Fabrics is in St. Louis, Missouri and I have been there many, many times. Very nice shop.

Your viewers might be very confused by this and you won’t get the advertisement for the showing at Jackman’s.

    I hope to be there!

When I saw you were coming within a few hours of me
I literally stopped breathing and rushed (cause I can’t hold my breath
all that long) and checked the dates. Then my
Heart sank. You’ll be there the same weekend my daughter
    Graduates. I’m sad. I’m disappointed. I’m hoping
And hoping you’ll come again somewhere near me
Again soon. Love, love your craftsy classes, your
Books, and the videos I watch. There is a persona
Of easy kindness and intelligence that motivates
Me to try more, fly more. Happy classes (sob…..without me)
Hope to meet you one day soon and stand in your

Hi saw all the wonderful remarks about your classes. Do you come to Arizona or Nevada, even New Mexico, I live in northern AZ. Would love to attend one of your classes. I have a Quattro 2 6700D Brother embroidery machine.

  • Just the other day, I went home for lunch to take my dog out
for a little walk, and I met a very nice man who was driving around checking out the area
where I live. Outside cleaners have to do a good job, or they don’t get invited
back. A form of the herb licorice, called deglycyrrhizinated
licorice (DGL), was explored for canker sores in a small study.

I was just on an embroidery cruise with the Stitching Sisters. It was quite disappointing. Although it was advertised as an embroidery cruise, we only spent 1/3 of the time actually on embroidery machines. Some time was spent on a regular sewing machine and we weren’t given a foot pedal to sew with. The first project was a draw-string bag. A project that I had done when I was 10! A little insulting for an experienced sewer. The fabrics given to us for the projects were bargain-bin fabrics. No choice of fabrics. No choice of threads. We were not given any advanced notice of the projects we were doing on the cruise. We did not find out until after the ship had sailed. And we paid lots of money for the projects! Certainly more than they were worth. There was no instruction given for the embroidery portions. No neat tips or new ideas. There was very little interaction from the sisters. Most disappointed!!!
